Collection: US Half Cents

US Half Cents were a series of coins minted by the United States from 1793 to 1857. They were the smallest denomination of coins in circulation during that time, worth half a cent or 1/200th of a dollar. The design of the coins changed several times throughout the series, featuring images of Lady Liberty, a wreath, and eventually the profile of Liberty wearing a coronet. Due to their small size and low value, Half Cents were not widely used and many were melted down for their copper content. Today, Half Cents are rare and highly sought after by collectors.
