This 1929 Series $10 Federal Reserve Bank Note was issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Illinois — District G — and is part of the classic small-size National Currency type that defined American paper money in the early twentieth century. The obverse features an engraved portrait of Alexander Hamilton at center, flanked by the issuing bank's name and district letter "G," along with two matching serial numbers printed in red. Signatures of the bank's Asst. Deputy Governor and Governor appear at the lower left and lower right. A brown Federal Reserve seal appears to the right of center. The reverse displays an engraved vignette of the U.S. Treasury Building in green, a design shared by $10 Federal Reserve Bank Notes of this era. The note carries Friedberg catalog reference Fr. 1860-G. As noted in the title, there is writing present on the obverse.
