The 1859-O Liberty Seated Half Dollar is a mid-19th century United States coin struck at the New Orleans Mint. The obverse features the seated figure of Liberty holding a shield inscribed "LIBERTY" and a pole topped with a Liberty cap, surrounded by thirteen stars and the date 1859 below. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with spread wings, holding an olive branch and arrows, with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" above and "HALF DOL." below. The "O" mint mark is visible on the reverse beneath the eagle. This example is graded AU (About Uncirculated).
