The Coronet Head Cent, struck between 1808 and 1814, represents an early chapter in American large cent coinage. Designed by John Reich, the Coronet (or Classic Head) series replaced the earlier Turban Head design and features Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with "LIBERTY" on the obverse, surrounded by stars, with a wreath and denomination on the reverse. This example is graded P-1, indicating heavy circulation and significant wear consistent with coins that saw extensive use in everyday commerce of the early 19th century.
Coin Grading is Subjective, and should be treated as an opinion of grade. We use ANA Grading Standards as our Reference.
