This 1819/8 Coronet Head Large Cent presents the Over Date variety, with the underlying 8 visible beneath the 9 in the date. The obverse features the classic left-facing Liberty portrait wearing a coronet inscribed "LIBERTY," surrounded by stars, with the date 1819 at the base. The reverse displays "ONE CENT" within a wreath, encircled by "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." The variety is identified as N-1, Rarity-1 per the Newcomb classification system for early American large cents. A solid example of this early 19th-century one-cent piece.
