The 1822 Coronet Head cent is an early American large cent, struck during the classic era of United States copper coinage. This example grades VG-10, showing clear major design elements with moderate, even wear consistent with the grade. The Coronet Head design, also known as the Matron Head, features Liberty facing left wearing a coronet inscribed "LIBERTY," surrounded by stars, with the reverse displaying a wreath encircling the denomination.
