This 1837 Coronet Head Large Cent in the Medium Letters variety grades Fine-15. The Coronet Head design, introduced in 1816, features Liberty facing left wearing a coronet inscribed "LIBERTY," surrounded by thirteen stars. The reverse displays a wreath encircling the denomination "ONE CENT" with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" around the border. At Fine-15, the coin shows moderate even wear across the high points with major design elements remaining clear and well-defined. Medium Letters refers to the size of the lettering on the reverse, distinguishing this variety from the Small and Large Letters issues of the same year.
