The 1842 Braided Hair Large Cent is a classic example of early American copper coinage. Struck during the final design era of the large cent series, the Braided Hair type features Liberty wearing a coronet with her hair pulled back in a braid, surrounded by thirteen stars, with a plain edge and classic reverse wreath. This example grades VF-20, showing moderate even wear across the high points with the major design elements remaining clear and well-defined.
