1848 Braided hair cent VF-20 1138.20

This 1848 Braided Hair Large Cent grades Very Fine-20, showing moderate wear across the high points with the major design elements remaining clear and well-defined. The Braided Hair design, introduced in 1839, features Liberty facing left with a coronet and braided hair, surrounded by stars on the obverse, and a wreath encircling the denomination on the reverse. A solid circulated example of this classic mid-19th century American copper coin.
