1853 Braided Hair Cent VF

This 1853 Braided Hair Cent grades Very Fine (VF), showing pleasing detail across Liberty's hair and the reverse wreath. The Braided Hair design, engraved by Christian Gobrecht, was produced from 1839 through 1857 and represents the final chapter of the large cent series. At this grade level, the major design elements are well defined with moderate, even wear — a solid, honest example of this classic early American copper coin.
