1853 Braided Hair Cent VF-35 1168.35

The 1853 Braided Hair Cent is a classic early American copper coin from the final years of the large cent series. This example grades Very Fine 35, showing moderate to above-average circulation wear with major design details clearly defined and some light smoothing on the higher points. The Braided Hair design, introduced in 1839, features a left-facing Liberty with braided hair on the obverse and a wreath surrounding the denomination on the reverse — a refined and elegant design for its era.
