This 1855 Braided Hair Large Cent features the scarce Slanting "5" variety, graded AU-50. The Braided Hair design, introduced in 1839, was the final large cent type produced by the United States Mint. At the AU-50 grade, this coin retains significant original detail with only light wear on the high points, making it an attractive example of this historic series.
