1867 Ray's Shield Nickel G-4

The 1867 Rays Shield Nickel is an early five-cent piece from the Shield Nickel series, struck during the first years of U.S. nickel coinage. The "With Rays" variety features rays between the stars on the reverse, distinguishing it from the later "No Rays" design issued the same year. This example grades Good-4, showing the major design elements clearly with even wear consistent with the grade.
