This 1913 Buffalo Nickel is a Type 1 issue graded MS-64, displaying a noted lamination — a mint-made planchet characteristic recorded at the time of grading. The obverse features a boldly detailed Native American portrait in right profile with "LIBERTY" arcing above and the date 1913 below. The reverse displays the iconic American bison standing on a mound above "FIVE CENTS," with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arching across the top. The coin shows attractive toning across both surfaces consistent with its age and originality. Type 1 refers to the reverse die variety where the bison stands on a raised mound, as issued during the first year of the Buffalo Nickel series.
