The 1913 Buffalo Nickel Type 2 is a first-year issue of one of American coinage's most distinctive designs. The obverse features a bold Native American portrait in left-facing profile, with "LIBERTY" visible at the right and the date at the lower left. The reverse displays a bison standing on a flat line — the defining characteristic of the Type 2 reverse — with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arching above and "FIVE CENTS" below. This example is graded MS-64, placing it firmly in the Choice Uncirculated category and making it an appealing addition to any collection focused on early 20th-century U.S. coinage.
Coin Grading is Subjective, and should be treated as an opinion of grade. We use ANA Grading Standards as our Reference.
