This 1913 Buffalo Nickel is the Variety 2 type, featuring the bison standing on a raised mound with the denomination "FIVE CENTS" on a plain field below. The obverse displays a lamination error — a visible planchet flaw where a layer of metal has separated or peeled — and the reverse shows a rim cud, a raised blob of metal at the rim caused by a die break. Both features are noted as part of the coin's identity and make it of interest to error collectors. Graded EF45 PH26, this example shows strong design definition consistent with an Extremely Fine grade.
Coin Grading is Subjective, and should be treated as an opinion of grade. We use ANA Grading Standards as our Reference.
