This 1929 Series $5 National Bank Note — Type 2 — was issued by the First National Bank of Fayetteville, Arkansas, under Charter 7346. National Bank Notes of this era were printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and then distributed through individual chartered banks, making each issuing institution a distinct collecting variable. Notes from smaller-state charters such as Arkansas add particular interest for regional currency collectors.
The obverse features an engraved portrait of Abraham Lincoln at center, flanked by the issuing bank's name and location, charter number 7346 printed in black on both sides, and serial number F003013A printed in red. Signatures of the bank's Cashier and President appear at lower left and lower right respectively, alongside the printed facsimile signatures of the Register of the Treasury and Treasurer of the United States. The reverse carries an engraving of the Lincoln Memorial in green ink, standard for the Series 1929 $5 denomination.
