This 1942-P Jefferson Nickel is struck in 35% silver — the first year of the wartime silver composition — and grades MS 66 with a 5 Full Steps designation, indicating a sharply struck reverse with five complete steps visible at Monticello. The coin also carries the Original Bag Fragment designation (9D4Y), tying it to its original mint bag and supporting its exceptional state of preservation. A solid, well-struck example of an important transitional issue in the Jefferson Nickel series.

Coin Grading is Subjective, and should be treated as an opinion of grade. We use ANA Grading Standards as our Reference.
